DIGITAL CHAIN OF CUSTODY

Every piece of evidence has a history. AreaChain makes that history reviewable.

A proprietary Areatec technology that links artifacts, context and events in a sequence designed for later review.

How the event moves forward

  1. Original artifact
  2. Digital fingerprint
  3. Related events
  4. Verification

WHAT IT IS

An integrity layer for digital events.

AreaChain records the digital fingerprint of a file or artifact at the event where it is produced. It also preserves the certificate, the artifact reference and the related sequence. This makes it possible to check later whether the content presented matches the recorded value, without turning integrity into a promise of absolute truth.

THE MECHANISM

Four moments create a history that can be examined.

  1. 01

    Capture

The file or artifact is linked to the event that produced it and to the context allowed by the operation.

  2. 02

    Fingerprint

The digital fingerprint is calculated and recorded with the artifact reference and the applicable certificate.

  3. 03

    Event

The action, time and authorized actor enter the sequence according to the sources available to the project.

  4. 04

    Verification

The fingerprint of the content presented is recalculated and compared with the recorded value. A mismatch shows that the values do not correspond, but does not by itself explain why the content changed.

WHERE IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

From field operations to formal documents.

The same approach can support evidence in mobility, parking, enforcement, urban services and documents, according to each project's purpose, access rules and retention policy.

Field mobility

Images, readings and authorized context can share a sequence designed for later review.

Parking

Occupancy, payment, authorization and enforcement events can be related without implying that the technology is used automatically.

Urban services

Reports, images, referrals and reviews can maintain a traceable history.

Documents

A file, signature, certificate and custody events can form a reviewable sequence.

OPERATIONAL SCALE: WHEN EVIDENCE IS AVAILABLE

A number without context is not evidence of scale.

No volume is presented without a verifiable source. Responsible publication identifies the unit, time window, scope, reference date and accountable internal source, always as an aggregated operational snapshot, never as a fabricated counter or permanent guarantee.

PINTRUST AND AREACHAIN

Authenticity at capture. Integrity throughout the history.

Pintrust

Authenticates and verifies that the position is coherent at the moment of capture, based on the signals and controls available.

AreaChain

Preserves the recorded fingerprint, certificate, artifact reference and event sequence for later verification.

GOVERNANCE

Technical integrity does not replace procedure.

What can be stated

A verifiable match between the recalculated fingerprint and recorded value, an auditable sequence and an identifiable mismatch.

What depends on the project

Custody of the original file, access controls, retention, export, exception handling and human review.

What cannot be stated

Incontestable proof, absolute inviolability, automatic legal validity or admissibility, or complete compliance with standards.
